The triathlon starts on Sunday morning with a mass start on Glücksburg's spa beach under the motto "Experience the sea" and first sends the athletes into the Baltic Sea for a swim. The swimming stage in the sea makes the OstseeMan a unique event, as the triathlon in Glücksburg is the only one in Germany where the athletes plunge into the cool waters of the open sea.
After the athletes have swung themselves onto their bikes, six bike laps follow on a varied route through the unique natural surroundings and the surrounding villages, such as the green village of Langballig.
The marathon run course is the final part of the OstseeMan triathlon in Glücksburg and leads over five laps through the town, along the promenade with a fantastic view of the beach and the sea, as well as through the castle park past Glücksburg Castle to the finish. If you are not (yet) fit enough for an IronMan, but would still like to take part in the OstseeMan, you can also register as a team of three athletes. Each team member then completes one stage of the course.
