Families get their money's worth in Glücksburg. In addition to the great beach areas where children can build their sandcastles and cool off in the clear waters of the Flensburg Fjord, there are exciting playgrounds to discover and exciting excursion destinations in the region. Incidentally, Strand Drei in Holnis is particularly suitable for small children, as it is a shallow water beach and the water here washes up very shallowly onto the beach.

In search of happiness?

To be found in this book!

Class 4a at Glücksburg Primary School has created the wonderful children's book "Glücksorte in Glücksburg" (Places of Happiness in Glücksburg) with the support of local businesses and fantastic partners from the region.
Cultural mediator Elisa Priester, class teacher Saskia Drews and communication designer Stella Jung worked together with the children on the exciting book project, which deals with the topic of "moments of happiness".
The pupils describe 12 places where happiness can be found. The book also contains puzzles and interactive games created by the children that focus on happiness.
A great vacation read for everyone to read, browse and experience. Or a great idea as a gift for loved ones at home!
It is available for a nominal fee of 7 euros from the Tourist Information Office at Schinderdam. You are also welcome to contact us via the form to purchase or pre-order a copy.

Playgrounds

Families in Glücksburg have a number of exciting playgrounds at their disposal for a short trip into adventure. On the beaches in Sandwig, on the Holnis peninsula and in Schwennau, there are playgrounds that entice children to take a trip to the seaside even on cooler days. The grown-ups can either play along or make themselves comfortable in a beach chair, which are available near the playgrounds. All playgrounds are regularly maintained and well looked after. A very special tip is the Friedeholz forest playground, which offers plenty of shade on hot days. The idyllic forest playground with wooden play equipment is spacious and offers plenty of room for imaginative play.

Mini golf

There's one thing you can't miss on a family vacation by the sea: a game of mini golf! The Adventure Fjordgolf Holnis mini golf course, which has been designed with great attention to detail, is beautifully situated right on the beach promenade on the Holnis peninsula and transports you to a miniature version of your vacation resort of Glücksburg. The castle is surrounded by water, a seagull watches you tee off and the lighthouse shows you the way to the hole. Just outside Glücksburg, in Solitüde, there is another mini golf course with 18 well-maintained holes and a small kiosk serving hot and cold food.

Glücksburg Skatepark

For older children and teenagers who have perhaps outgrown the playground a little, a visit to the Glücksburg skate park is a good idea. Numerous exciting obstacles such as obstacles, ramps and a bowl for all ages and levels are set up here and can be used to your heart's content. The course can be ridden on a skateboard or scooter. The positive atmosphere among skaters in general and at the Glücksburg skate park in particular is one reason why things are always so lively here. Send your children by, pack their equipment and be amazed when the young and old skaters come home with new tricks!

Fördeland-Therme

Families can also have a great time in Glücksburg on typical Baltic Sea days. The Fördeland-Therme offers a large bathing and swimming area in the "Children's World", where children's hearts beat faster. The children's pool with a water depth of just 20 cm is ideal for babies, toddlers and non-swimmers to splash around in. The small lighthouse slide is particularly fun. In dry weather, we also recommend the outdoor pool with miniature castle and large mud playground, where the little ones can really let off steam. The family slide is particularly popular with older children (and the young at heart).

Phenomenta

Attention little explorers: The Phänomenta, an interactive exhibition about science and technology, awaits you in Flensburg. But even the grown-ups can learn something new here. The entire exhibition is designed so that you can lend a hand at any time and carry out small experiments yourself to better understand the phenomena. Around 170 experiments are waiting to be carried out by visitors: from the "sloping salon", in which the sense of balance is really shaken up, to the Coriolis fountain, in which the rotation sets the water jets in turmoil. In the Dwarf Phenomenta, 3 to 6-year-olds can tinker, tinker and marvel at 20 age-appropriate exhibits.
