In Glücksburg, dog owners will find a great vacation spot with numerous possibilities. Several dog beaches in Glücksburg ensure undisturbed beach fun with your four-legged friend. There are also beautiful excursion destinations with dogs just a short distance away. There is also a large area in Glücksburg Forest where you can let your pets run free. The extensive nature, especially on the Holnis peninsula, also invites you to go for walks with your four-legged companion. Please note that a leash is compulsory everywhere on the Flensburg Fjord!

On the Holnis peninsula, you will find three designated stretches of beach that are open to dogs when there is little bathing activity. One is located north of the spa beach in the direction of Holnis Spitze, a second north of the spa beach as far as the surf school and a third south of the spa beach as far as Bockholmwik. In all beach areas, dogs must be kept on a lead or directly with their owner. In the area up to the surf school, dogs may only be taken on a lead. Dogs are also allowed on the beach at Quellental if there is little activity.

Just a few kilometers outside of Glücksburg, on Langballigau beach, you will also find an official dog beach with paid parking spaces within walking distance and bag dispensers. On Solitüde beach, between Flensburg and Glücksburg, there is a fine sandy dog beach on the southern shore. Free parking spaces and bag dispensers are available.

In the middle of the Glücksburg forest, surrounded by old trees, there is a spacious, approx. 20-hectare exercise area for dogs. Here your dog can play, romp and cuddle freely. You don't need a lead in this designated area, your dog can move freely and explore the surroundings undisturbed. Lush countryside and numerous walking trails invite you to enjoy a relaxing walk. You will find parking spaces on Uferstraße near Sandwigstraße. The spacious exercise area is unique in the area and is well-known and popular throughout northern Germany and as far as Denmark. Especially in summer, a trip into the forest with your dog and family is a great alternative to the busy beach.
