From Glücksburg with the MS Viking

A special sightseeing tour across the water to Flensburg is available directly from Glücksburg. Easy to reach, the MS Viking ferry departs from the pier opposite the Strandhotel Glücksburg from morning to afternoon. It takes around 50 minutes to travel from Glücksburg across the fjord, rounding the Ox Islands, to Flensburg harbor. But a complete round trip, there and back, is also possible. With a fantastic view of the fjord, you can listen to information about the picturesque region, perhaps enjoy a snack or a drink or two on board and even have the opportunity to shop duty-free.

From Flensburg with the saloon steamer Alexandra

The historic landmark of the port city of Flensburg, the saloon steamer Alexandra from 1908, transforms a cruise into a nostalgic ship experience. Catch a glimpse of the art and craft of the old steamships below deck. All guests can also play a crew member on the trip and steer the steamer or throw coal. Or write your loved ones a little postcard greeting from the "Alex" with your own "Alex" stamp and ship's postmark. During the summer season, there are regular round trips across the Flensburg Fjord, but excursions to Langballig, for example, are also on the program. Every two years, the "Alexandra" leads the big steamboat parade for the Flensburg Steam Round Trip, during which numerous steamboats provide insights into their ship technology.

By boat to Denmark

From Langballigau to Sønderborg

From May to October, the MS Feodora takes you from Langballigau to Sønderborg in just 50 minutes, where you can enjoy the typical Danish hygge atmosphere. Sønderborg Castle catches the eye as soon as you arrive. 800 years of Danish history are presented here from a South Jutland perspective. The castle was built around 1160 by the Danish King Valdemar the Great and originally served as an impressive defensive structure. Sønderborg is the capital of the South Jutland region and has something to offer every vacationer. The stores invite you to go on a relaxed shopping tour, you can indulge in culinary delights in the numerous cafés and restaurants and the harbor promenade is perfect for a stroll. Please do not forget your identity card or passport or a valid Schengen visa for the crossing.

With the Rødsand bike ferry to Egernsund

If you would like to explore Denmark by bike, the bike ferry "Rødsand" offers you the opportunity to take your bike with you from Langballigau from June to August. It runs from Mondays to Thursdays from Langballigau to Egernsund, via Brunsnæs and Rendbjerg (Marina Minde) and back. On Fridays it travels from Flensburg via Sønderhav to Egernsund and back. It is best to reserve a ticket on the popular ferry in advance, as space is limited. Your identity card or passport must also always be with you on your journey on the Rødsand! This way, nothing stands in the way of your cycle tour on Denmark's side of the fjord.
