The Fördecrossing is one of the most popular sporting events in Glücksburg and the whole of Schleswig-Holstein. It is known far beyond the borders of Germany and attracts hundreds of athletes every year to prove themselves in the Baltic Sea. Up to 450 open water swimmers meet every year to cross the fjord from Sønderhav to Sandwig, with thousands of spectators cheering them on from the beach at Sandwig and from the pier. The competition takes place on 09.08.2025 under strict safety precautions and is organized by the DLRG Glücksburg.

09.00 - 09.15 hrs | Acceptance of a limited number of late registrations in the registration tent
09.00 - 12.00 hrs | Issue of starting documents in the registration tent
13.00 hrs | Race briefing on Glücksburg beach, followed by the transfer to the start in Sønderhav / Denmark
approx. 14.15 hrs | start
